I believe in the reality of climate change and the historical fact that if you forget history you are doomed to repeat it But I would much prefer a solar utopian story over another solar dystopia story any day of the week.
Hi. Great article and is the key thinking behind the Green Stories project I've been running since 2018 which encourages writers to embed climate solutions into stories - not just problems see https://www.greenstories.org.uk/ (same image too!). Check out some of our publications on https://habitatpress.com/
Found this after reading "The Unmapping." Your analysis holds up well. I agree that subcategories aren't as important as more and better climate stories. As Amitov Ghosh argues for in "The Great Derangement." It is truly the story of our time. One quibble I do have is that our human-centeredess is what landed us in this trouble. We share this planet, as one species among literally countless others, and would do well to step out of the center and remember humility.

Such a good, useful article. Thank you, Denise.
Phenomenal article, Denise! Thank you.
Eye and mind opening, both in the fictional and non fictional worlds.
